New CME: Diagnosis and Management of Dementia for Primary Care Providers

Research now shows that the lifetime risk of developing dementia after age 55 is approximately 42%, making dementia one of the most common conditions primary care providers will encounter. As the number of patients living with dementia continues to grow, primary care clinicians are increasingly responsible for recognizing, diagnosing, and managing dementia, just as they do other chronic diseases such as heart disease and chronic lung disease.

This comprehensive one-hour CME course is offered at no charge. It is funded by Maricopa County Public Health and taught by Maricopa County’s leading dementia care experts from Mayo Clinic Neurology, Honor Health, Barrow Neurological Institute, Banner Alzheimer’s Institute, and Hospice of the Valley’s Dementia Campus. It equips primary care providers with practical, evidence-based strategies to diagnose dementia, communicate effectively with patients and families, manage symptoms, coordinate care, and confidently guide patients throughout the dementia journey.
